The surge protector at my house caught fire. do surge pro comp. have insurance 2 cover our loss?
I had a fire at my house and my surge protector caught fire burning my saltwater aquarium tank and stand leaving a lot of smoke and soot all over my home. I was told that surge protector companies provide insurance to cover fire damages. is this true? if so, where do i start?
No, they don’t provide insurance, but some of them *might* provide a limited warranty. You’ll have to check with the manufacturer of your surge protector.
You probably need to file this under your homeowners policy, though, as it sounds like a lot more damage than any little warranty would cover.
